First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

St. Ignatius Loyola is here to assist you and your child as he/she prepares for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

Special retreats and preparation sessions are scheduled to prepare your child for the sacraments and also to further parents' understanding of the sacraments and how they can help in the preparation of their child.

To be eligible for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation, children should be baptized Catholics, at least seven years old, who have been attending faith formation classes for at least one year immediately before they begin preparation classes. It is our expectation that children are also attending Mass regularly with your family. Eligible students and their parents will then set up a time to meet with a member of the Formation staff in order to register in person.

For information about registering for faith formation classes, please visit the Formation webpage.

If you believe your child is eligible to begin preparation for First Penance and First Eucharist, or if you have any questions concerning sacramental preparation for you child, please contact us at children@silcc.org
