Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement

Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement

from the wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Do you experience times of discouragement in your spiritual life?  You are not alone! For most of us, spiritual discouragement is a significant obstacle to overcome. In a series of practical guidelines, St. Ignatius of Loyola offers invaluable aid toward understanding this struggle, finding freedom from such discouragement, and living our daily spiritual lives with joy. Join us on Saturday, August 2nd from 10:30am to 12:30pm to learn from the wisdom of St. Ignatius how to combat spiritual discouragement and follow Christ with greater peace and joy.

Marlon Barao will be our presenter. Marlon is a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. He is a certified Spiritual Director and received his training at the Marian Servants of the Incarnate Wisdom School of Spiritual Direction in Houston, Texas. This experience instructed and formed him in the many teachings of St. Ignatius Loyola. Marlon has just finished his Pastoral Year formation at St. Martha Catholic Church in Kingwood, TX. God willing, he will be ordained to the transitional diaconate in May 2026 and ordained to the priesthood in June 2027. His home parish is here at St. Ignatius Loyola, Spring, TX.
