Chartering a Ministry

Often there are requests to begin a new ministry at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish. With over 80 active ministries and organizations, we try to avoid a duplication of a ministry under a different name. Therefore, the Pastoral Council has implemented a method to charter, or begin, a new ministry at the parish.

The first place to go is to one of the five commission (Administration, Community Life, Formation/Evangelization, Outreach, Worship) under which the ministry will be placed. The commission will consider the ministry, follow the CDI process and then make a recommendation to the Pastoral Council. The Pastoral Council may ask more questions and seek clarifications as they, too, follow the CDI process. Once the Pastoral Council and the Commission are in agreement, the recommendation is made to the Pastor to either approve the new ministry or not.
