Pre-K4 - Grade 5
Elementary faith formation
Elementary Formation encompasses children in Pre-K4 through Grade 5. We welcome the opportunity to help your children grow in their faith through Faith Formation.
Early Childhood Formation: Pre-K4
Early Childhood Formation uses Allelu! published by Our Sunday Visitor. The program consists of weekly lessons and activities organized around the four big ideas listed under Elementary Formation. Weekly take-home pages are distributed for family discussion and prayer.
Elementary Formation: Graders K-5
Elementary Faith Formation uses the Finding God series from Loyola Press. The program is adapted to the new curriculum formatted by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston that focuses on lifelong learning and forming Disciples in Christ. This curriculum follows a scope and sequence organized around four big ideas: “Who Is Jesus Christ?”; “How Do We Get to Know and Love Jesus Christ?”; “How does Jesus Christ Teach Us to Live a Moral Life?”; and “How Are We Called to Become Missionary Disciples of Jesus Christ?”. Occasionally, there will be take home materials for family discussion and prayer.
Schedule
Early Childhood and Elementary classes are one hour and thirty minutes long, one day a week during the school year. In order to provide an opportunity for families to find a class that best suits their schedules, we offer the following days and times:
- Sunday at 3:30 PM
- Tuesday at 5 PM
- Wednesday at 5 PM
Home Study
Our parish is committed to providing
in-person faith formation as we prepare our children and youth for the sacraments. However, if your family has circumstances that that make attending in person difficult, we encourage you to contact us. We would be happy to meet with you and discuss how we can best support your family. If your family is in need of assistance, please email
Viridiana Gamboa. Thank you!
